Car Window Tinting for Montana Roads
Legal, heat-cutting tint for cars, trucks and SUVs, in the shop or wherever your vehicle already sits, throughout Ronan, Polson and the Flathead Lake area.
Automotive Window Tinting
A truck parked in a gravel lot at nine in the morning shouldn’t feel like an oven by noon, and a dashboard shouldn’t crack and fade after two Montana summers. Car window tinting fixes both, a real drop in cabin heat and a real barrier against the UV that’s stronger up here than most people expect at this elevation.

Where We Work
Proudly Serving Northwest Montana
We install car window tinting throughout Ronan, Polson, Pablo, St. Ignatius and the rest of the Mission Valley and Flathead Lake area, right at our shop. If you’ve searched car window tinting near me anywhere in that stretch, we’re likely already the shop your coworker used.
Heat, UV, and glare, all solved at the glass.
Why Montana Drivers Tint
Homeowners usually call us for one of three reasons, sometimes all at once.
Heat
A car sitting in a parking lot all day heats up fast, and the steering wheel and seats take the worst of it. Auto tint cuts a real share of that solar heat before it ever builds up inside.
UV damage
Dashboards crack, leather dries out, and upholstery fades from the same sun that's frying your hardwood floors at home. Car tint blocks the majority of that UV before it reaches the interior.
Glare and privacy
Less glare off the dash during a sunset drive down Highway 93, and less of your vehicle's interior visible to anyone walking through a parking lot.
Know your limits before you tint.
Staying Legal in Montana
Montana’s tint law is more relaxed than a lot of neighboring states, but it still has real limits. Front side windows need to let in at least 24% of light. On a standard car, the back side windows and rear window need to allow at least 14%. On trucks, SUVs and vans, there’s no minimum for anything behind the front doors.
Reflective tint is capped at 35% on side and rear windows, and red, yellow or amber tint isn’t allowed anywhere on the vehicle. Medical exemptions for darker front tint are available with the right documentation.
We measure and install to these limits as standard practice, no guessing and no getting a ticket two weeks after a fresh install. Local enforcement can interpret details differently, so if you have a specific concern, it’s worth a quick call.
Pick the film that matches how you drive.
Film Options
Most vehicles do well with a quality dyed or carbon film, a solid, affordable choice for daily drivers. For anyone doing a lot of highway miles in direct sun, or parking outside all day for work, our premium film option is worth the upgrade, the same reasoning we give lake homeowners: it blocks more heat, holds its color longer, and won’t interfere with a phone signal or a dash cam the way older, lower-grade films can.
A few things that come standard with any job:
We match tint percentage across all windows so it looks intentional, not patchy.
We explain what’s legal for your specific vehicle type before you commit to a shade.
We stand behind the install. Bubbling or peeling within the warranty period, you call and we fix it.
Car Window Tinting For You
Mobile Car Window Tinting
Not everyone has time to sit in a waiting room for two hours. Mobile car window tinting brings the job to your driveway, your office parking lot, or wherever the vehicle already is, with the same film and the same process as an in-shop visit.
Our mobile car window tinting page covers what a mobile appointment looks like and what we need from the parking spot to get a clean result.
In and out, same day.
What to Expect
Most passenger vehicles are done in a couple of hours. Trucks and larger SUVs with more glass can run a bit longer. Film needs a short cure time, typically a few days, during which you should leave the windows up and avoid rolling them down.

More Than Just Cars
If you’re also dealing with a boat that bakes in the sun all summer, our marine window tinting page covers that. And if the house has the same heat and fading problem as the truck, our residential window tinting page is worth a look too. More on who we are is on our About Us page.
Frequently Asked Questions
How dark can I legally tint my car windows in Montana?
Front side windows must let in at least 24% of light. On standard cars, the back side windows and rear window must allow at least 14%. Trucks, SUVs and vans have no minimum behind the front doors. Reflective tint is capped at 35%.
How long does car window tinting take?
A couple of hours for most passenger vehicles, longer for trucks and larger SUVs with more glass. That’s separate from the few days of cure time afterward, so plan around both if you’re timing it before a trip.
Does car tint actually reduce heat inside the vehicle?
Yes. Quality auto film blocks a meaningful share of solar heat before it enters the cabin, which is especially noticeable on a vehicle parked outside all day.
What's the difference between dyed film and ceramic film for cars?
Dyed and carbon film are solid, affordable options for most daily drivers. Our premium film costs more but blocks more heat, holds its color longer, and won’t interfere with phone or dash cam signal the way older, lower-grade films can.
Do you tint trucks and SUVs, or just cars?
We tint cars, trucks, SUVs and vans throughout Ronan, Polson and the surrounding Mission Valley and Flathead Lake area.
